Frequently Asked Questions
Everything you need to know about your Jen-Ken Kiln purchase.
How long does it take to ship my kiln?
Since most Jen-Ken kilns are custom-built to order, lead times typically range from 4 to 8 weeks depending on the model and current demand. We will provide a tracking number as soon as your unit leaves our facility.
What kind of electrical setup do I need?
Electrical requirements vary by model. Smaller glass and jewelry kilns often run on standard 120V household outlets, while larger ceramic kilns require 240V circuits. Please check the specific product specifications and consult an electrician before installation.
Do you offer international shipping?
Yes, we ship worldwide. However, please note that international orders may be subject to additional freight charges, customs duties, and taxes. We also offer 220V/230V wiring options for international power standards.
What is the warranty on a Jen-Ken kiln?
All new Jen-Ken kilns come with a comprehensive 1-year manufacturer's warranty covering defects in materials and workmanship. Heating elements are considered wear items but are covered if failure occurs prematurely due to a manufacturing defect.
Can I return my kiln if I change my mind?
Returns are accepted within 30 days of delivery for unused kilns in their original packaging. Because these are heavy industrial items, a restocking fee may apply, and the customer is responsible for return freight costs.
How do I choose between a manual and a digital controller?
Digital controllers allow for precise temperature ramping and soak times, which is essential for complex glass fusing or repeatable ceramic firing. Manual kilns are more budget-friendly and suited for users who prefer hands-on control and simpler firing schedules.
